Hello, lovely people. Now that my March writing sabbatical has ended fruitfully, I intended to have a new post for you tomorrow, but I just learned that my mother, Maxwellin Asirvatham, died peacefully in her sleep last night at Creekside Post Acute Center in Yucaipa, CA.
As my longtime followers know, I’ve done a hell of a lot of work in the last few years to come to terms with my complicated family legacy, and while that’s an ongoing project, I have to say that I’m remarkably at peace right now.
I look forward to writing more—including something along the lines of a full obituary for Maxwellin Gima Asirvatham—and reconnecting with you all as soon as possible.
All best,
Sandhya aka Sandy
I am so sorry for you loss, Sandhya. Please do take care. All my best.
Dear Sandhya: sincerest condolences on your loss. Losing a parent is never easy. Good to read you are feeling at peace. Wishing you strength as you move forward with your process. Always a gift to read your thoughts. And a second to the words of Deena Ackerman.
